What type of acne do i have?
ok so i have these red bumps on my cheek area (the sides next to my nose) its like small red bumps but after a while pus comes out. is this cystic?? also what causes this type of acne?!?!What type of acne do i have?

i havent found how to successfully get rid of blackheads but for acne take zinc ad vitamin A supplements and eat lots of garlic. seriously. i have read through several medical books that garlic is overall very good for your bosy especially skin. EVERYDAY, just chop a few cloves and put it in different foods so it won't be as strong. i have very difficult skin and have been eating several cloves a day as well as using BOTH the regular proactive,which contains benzoyl peroxide, ANDDD the sensitive skin proactive, which contains salicylic acid. you need both to even it out and just swap the routine every other day. after using proactive I hae Eucerin redness relief moisterizer(night cream and day cream) that i use in addition to help the redness and moisterize my skin. my skin has been clearing and the redness is not as bad.hope i could help :)

Try using all of these things together every other day (every day would dry your skin out), and you might see results. NEVER (and I mean never) let your skin get too dry. This irritates your pores, making blackheads and zits easier to get. Use an oil-free face moisterizer. Ponds works for me.
To make your pores smaller, you can use egg white. Let it dry on your nose and forehead for 10 minutes and wash it off. Your face will feel really clean and refreshed.

About proactive, it too doesn't work for everyone. It worked for my mom friend's kid but it only worked for a little while. My brother tried it and it didn't work for him. But it probably does work miracles for some people. You don't sound like you have a major problem so you should try something like Neutrogena.
Neutrogena has a lot of products that you could use. You could use their acne wash, overnight gel thing to get rid of your acne while you sleep, etc. I haven't tried the wave massager because the oil-free acne wash does enough for me!

Okay, this is gonna sound weird, but rice water works better than anything. Like when you cook rice in a rice pot, you have to wash it first, and the water that you drain out of the pot before you fill it again and cook the rice, you can use it to wash your face with. I've been doing it for about 3 months and it's worked better than anything I've tried before. I don't know if you have rice or a rice pot or whatever, but I just thought I'd share that.
You should diffently try proactive, it helped clear up my skin in about a week. The mask really helps clear up pimples at night. The only downside to proactive is that you really have to be consistant on using it day and night. Good luck!

I also get acne on my back too, it's gross lol but only in the summer time, mostly because you sweat and it doesn't get air to it as easily. I honestly think face washes could do the same for acne on the back too, I've been using Clean %26amp; Clear Advantage face wash for a few weeks now and it's helped a lot for me, but I have to do it twice a day, I was doing that but it dried out my skin and then I did it just once then my acne got worse, So any acne is really annoying. But If you moisturize 2 to 3 times a day it helps a lot with the dryness.
Anyways, Maybe that would work for you? And try Clean %26amp; clear Dual action moisturizer, That way it won't dry your skin. I'm sorry if this isn't exactly helpful, since you asked for something for your back, but it works for my face, maybe it will work for you too! :)

sounds like whiteheads..if you have say more than 10 see your doctor..something that worked for me was retin a....it took about a year...but it really worked....something i have found that helps is clean and clear persa gel...i use it all the time...it even makes my pores appear smaller...also you can sterilize a needle with a match...clean the area with alcohol and slightly open the whitehead and use a clean set of tweezers to squeeze out the pus ...then wash up after

sounds like whiteheads..if you have say more than 10 see your doctor..something that worked for me was retin a....it took about a year...but it really worked....something i have found that helps is clean and clear persa gel...i use it all the time...it even makes my pores appear smaller...also you can sterilize a needle with a match...clean the area with alcohol and slightly open the whitehead and use a clean set of tweezers to squeeze out the pus ...then wash up after

Maybe you should try easing up on the cleansers.
Like any other body system, your skin oil will become heavier and thicker the more it gets used.
Sometimes cleaning too much (overcleaning) can cause your skin to produce more oil, as your body can't figure out why it's all being stripped away.
Also, lay off the sodas and colas. I pretty much stopped a while back, and it's done wonders for me.
Try drinking some more water, too. It will take some of that pore-clogging crap out of your system when you pee (which should be clear).
Oh, and go easy on the deep-fried and breaded foods, too.
It takes a concerted effort and a few weeks, but if you actually do all these instead of just saying you will, you can actually get much clearer skin.
No over-priced crap needed!

for an antibiotic if you see your dermatologist - by getting a consult from your regular doctor I would ask for doxycycline - my dermatologist gave it to me - there are many - minocycline, amoxicillin, etc., but the doxycycline I was told works strongest - you may have to get the dose adjusted properly - only Accutane is stronger my dermatologist said, that can have major side affects and is only used in very severe acne... I couldn't tolerate the antibiotics so I'm using pine tar soap 3 to 4 times a day drying it on the acne for ten to fifteen minutes - it's the best over the counter remedy I've found... you can get it at your local vitamin store Good luck - see a dermatologist for best results if you can....Pro Activ didn't work for me and costs $50 a month and pine tar soap is 3 to 4 dollars a bar - much better price and better effectiveness too...What is the best type of zit or acne supplement?
I agree, I think it is the best idea for severe acne to go and see a Dermatologist. However I have exellent insurance working for UPS, so I pay nothing for prescriptions. I know that dermatological medications are very expensive with no insurance. I would say I have mild acne but I take meds to keep it that way. I take Erythrocin which is a antibiotic tablet once a day and then two topical ointments. Differen at night before bed and Duac in the morning. Like I said before if you dont have exellent insurance just grab something from the store with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Good Luck!

Instead, use products with Benzoyl Peroxide as their main ingredient. Benzoyl Peroxide is stronger, and for me, works much better than Salicylic. I think ProActiv uses Benzoyl Peroxide as their main ingredient.
A good, not very expensive example is Neutrogena Clear Pore. It actually reduces redness and size in the ten minutes when I'm in the shower! Also, get this: SkinClearing Foundation from Neutrogena. It has Salycilic acid, but you can wear it all day, and it covers up the zits while killing them!!!!
Hope this helped. If you don't get the Clear Pore stuff, at least get the Foundation, it saved my life!

I had acne really bad when I was younger. I used proactive for years and it worked really well. just careful with the spot treatment, it bleaches things like towels, sheets, etc. I stopped after several years bc of price, the bleaching, and i think my face was getting used to it. i now use Murad, like proactive but gentler and does not bleach things. I have also used the Neutrogena on spot treatment for over night spots. also plain toothpaste, not gel or crushed up advil mixed with a lil water to make a paste.

I used proactive for years and it worked really well. just careful with the spot treatment, it bleaches things like towels, sheets, etc. I stopped after several years bc of price, the bleaching, and i think my face was getting used to it. i now use Murad, like proactive but gentler and does not bleach things. I have also used the Neutrogena on spot treatment for over night spots. also plain toothpaste, not gel or crushed up advil mixed with a lil water to make a paste.

I suggest this, get into a really good face care regimen. Wash your face twice a day in the morning and evening. Follow each was with a toner made specifically for oily skin. Lastly after the toner has dried, I apply a very light moisturizer unless my skin is dry then I get out some heavy duty stuff. Twice a week I use a exfoliating face wash followed by a pore cleansing and minimizing face mask. I use all Origins brand skin care product since Proactiv dried my skin out a lot. If you need makeup, I suggest breaking down and buying the Bare Minerals foundation. It is really helped my skin and I love the way it looks. You can make many different home remedies that work just as well as products that you buy...
For example,
There is an acne mask that is easy to make and excellent for treatment.
Use :
1 egg white
1/2 cup of lime (Juice the lime into a bowl)
- Put both together and blend well.
Next - Use some type of applicator and apply to face. Let the mask harden and leave on for 10-15min...
Also, when your 10-15 min are up wash you face with warm water, and take a warm to hot rag and place it over your face for 5min.
I hope this helps... I know many other home remedies if you need any other help. : )

I made an appointment with my dermotologist and he figured out what my exact type of skin needed. NO acne med you guy over the counter can pick out what is good for your specific skin type, NOT EVERYONES SKIN IS THE SAME! So find a dermo and good luck!

I really havent been keeping track. it worked really well on my skin for the first 3 or 4 months and it hasnet been doing any good for me latley, so i tryed something called acne free , its just like pro active except for i broke out in hives, and my skin started peeling. i found out that i was allergic to it. it really burned and changed tio colour of my skin for a while.My skin is now like a redish pinkish clour. not normal!. after that i whent back to using pro active and my skin now feels like it burns and changes tio that pinkish redish colour. it also hasnt been helping my acne or blackhead problem like it used to. i have been trying to find home ingredents or something besides all of the harmful chemicals that is being out on your skin every time you use a cleaner. i havent found any thing that workes besides a steamer. its called facial steem by conair. I got one and use it once a week along with my pro active and the pro active still is doing nothing for me but the steem really helpes. i will be checking uo on your question for others to answer because it will help me too. good luck!

Don't pick at your face with dirty hands. Don't touch your face a lot. If you use makeup try to limit the concealer/foundation and just let your face relax during a breakout.

Dairy and Acne, what type of protein powder should I take?
I had been taking whey protein powder and drinking lots of milk when i noticed my acne had gotten much worse. I cut out the whey and now I drink about a 750 ml of milk a day. My acne is still not very good and I was wondering if there is a good alternate form of protein that is not bad for the skin? It would also be beneficial to use an acne treatment gel before bed, containing salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, or sulfur. This may sound strange, but also using pure tea tree oil can work on your forehead, since it has antibacterial properties.

I really suggest a tea by The Republic of Tea called ';Get Gorgeous'; that has Rooibus as a main ingredient. It's specifically meant to improve your skin, and since I started drinking it I very rarely break out. I drink 6 glasses a day, iced and no sugar. For some reason, drinking it through a straw is a lot easier.
Aside from a mask I use once a week (Chocoable) and a good moisturizer from the same seller I got the soap from on ebay, that's all I use. I use to have bad acne, but now I'm clear. The acne treatments like proactive or murad were too harsh for me. Natural was far better, though I may still use a spot treatment now and then. Usually something with sulfer.
Don't pop them, it'll spread the acne. If your skin is dry or red, reduce your time in the shower and use lukewarm water. This method worked for me, but everyone's different. Hope some of it helped.
ps- If you wear make-up, mineral wear is best for your skin.
dont touch them! the worst thing you could do it to keep playing with them with your fingers. make sure if you can that your hair is off of your forehead. this keeps any oil from you hair off of your face. if you need to pop them, make sure you get a hot washcloth and put it over the whitehead. when the washcloth begins to cool, gently squeeze the white head with another washcloth or some other kind of cloth. ofter it is popped, gently wash your face to remove nay extra bacteria.

Do you have bangs? If you do, this is the likely culprit. Since they are only on your forehead, oils from your bangs deposit on your forehead, and from your fingers if you constantly push your bangs aside.
Popping them is a no-no, since this will just cause the bacteria to spread and more pimples. The best thing to do is to use a gentle cleanser (try Cerave, or Clinique Mild facial wash) twice a day. Follow with an exfoliating toner like Neutrogena Pore Reducing Toner or Clinique Clarifying Lotion #2. If you must moisturize, use a very light, oil free one (try Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, or Biore Oil Control Moisturizer). Once a week, use a gentle exfoliating scrub to remove dead skin that clogs pores.
Try to keep you hair off your face using clips, hairspray, etc. Make a concious effort to NOT touch your face or forehead especially. I used to have the same prob and doing the above helped a lot. The good news is the type of acne we have is fairly easy to deal with (as opposed to deep cystic pimples). If you find you still get a few here and there, use a spot treatment with salicylic acid like Clean and Clear Persa Gel.

Yes, there are many organic ways to cure acne.
You can make many different home remedies that work just as well as products that you buy...
For example,
There is an acne mask that is easy to make and excellent for treatment.
Use :
1 egg white
1/2 cup of lime (Juice the lime into a bowl)
- Put both together and blend well.
Next - Use some type of applicator and apply to face. Let the mask harden and leave on for 10-15min...
Also, when your 10-15 min are up wash you face with warm water, and take a warm to hot rag and place it over your face for 5min.

oohh I know what you mean about proactiv, Ive used it and no one I know who has used it said it worked, and for me, it seemed to make my acne worse! BUT my face looks amazing now! I made an appointment with my dermotologist and he figured out what my exact type of skin needed. NO acne med you guy over the counter can pick out what is good for your specific skin type, NOT EVERYONES SKIN IS THE SAME! So find a dermo and good luck!
I'm like that. i have been using proactive for about 5 months to a year. I really havent been keeping track. it worked really well on my skin for the first 3 or 4 months and it hasnet been doing any good for me latley, so i tryed something called acne free , its just like pro active except for i broke out in hives, and my skin started peeling. i found out that i was allergic to it. it really burned and changed tio colour of my skin for a while.My skin is now like a redish pinkish clour. not normal!. after that i whent back to using pro active and my skin now feels like it burns and changes tio that pinkish redish colour. it also hasnt been helping my acne or blackhead problem like it used to. i have been trying to find home ingredents or something besides all of the harmful chemicals that is being out on your skin every time you use a cleaner. i havent found any thing that workes besides a steamer. its called facial steem by conair. I got one and use it once a week along with my pro active and the pro active still is doing nothing for me but the steem really helpes. i will be checking uo on your question for others to answer because it will help me too. good luck!
well i used to use proactive it was really good but expensive and i didnt have time for the 3 steps 2x a day thats the only way it would leave my skin completely clear so i stopped using it my skin got about 20x worse i recently started using mario badescu products and they are working so well!!!! and they are not harsh at all!
Dont wash your face with soap (worst thing ever). Find a product that works best for your skin. I use apricot scrub (oil-free) and it helps with my breakouts. Don't pick at your face with dirty hands. Don't touch your face a lot. If you use makeup try to limit the concealer/foundation and just let your face relax during a breakout.

I'm like that. i have been using proactive for about 5 months to a year. I really havent been keeping track. it worked really well on my skin for the first 3 or 4 months and it hasnet been doing any good for me latley, so i tryed something called acne free , its just like pro active except for i broke out in hives, and my skin started peeling. i found out that i was allergic to it. it really burned and changed tio colour of my skin for a while.My skin is now like a redish pinkish clour. not normal!. after that i whent back to using pro active and my skin now feels like it burns and changes tio that pinkish redish colour. it also hasnt been helping my acne or blackhead problem like it used to. i have been trying to find home ingredents or something besides all of the harmful chemicals that is being out on your skin every time you use a cleaner. i havent found any thing that workes besides a steamer. its called facial steem by conair. well i used to use proactive it was really good but expensive and i didnt have time for the 3 steps 2x a day thats the only way it would leave my skin completely clear so i stopped using it my skin got about 20x worse i recently started using mario badescu products and they are working so well!!!! and they are not harsh at all!
Dont wash your face with soap (worst thing ever). Find a product that works best for your skin. I use apricot scrub (oil-free) and it helps with my breakouts. Don't pick at your face with dirty hands. Don't touch your face a lot. If you use makeup try to limit the concealer/foundation and just let your face relax during a breakout.

Unfortunately those who are prone to get these, we find is genetically related. You best approach is prevention by using a maintenance level of products which contain Salicylic acid and Benzoyl Peroxide.
But, like I said, treatments are available once you have the problem itentified. If it IS Acne for instance what acne grade are you? What is your Fitzpatrick and Glaugo. I know that these may be totally terms you do not know, but to most professionals who deal with this understand and help you better. At least I know I can.

I'd use the Norwex facecloths, I know they even out the complexion, they are antibac microfiber so everything stays clean, and they'll remove makeup with just water. In fact water is the only thing you use with these cloths, maybe some product you are using is causing the problem, can't hurt to give them a try.
Try products by the MD Formulations range. It is created by a dermatologist - I've used it and the products worked for me.
You really should see a dermatologist for a proper diagnosis and she/he will advise about the correct treatment procedures and which skin care products to use. In the meantime, just wash your face with a good, mild soap or cleanser and use Witch Hazel as an astringent. Some excellent soaps to try are Ivory bar soap, Pears glycerin soap and Cuticura original bar soap.

i had the same thing. i had pimples all over my forehead and it was really embarrassing. i started using proactive and it dried out my skin, and i have greasy skin so i decided not to use that anymore..i started using the neutrogena skin ID thing and it worked REALLY well. if you go to skinid.com and take the little like test, it will help you alot. its pretty pricey but worth it. it really helped me and its designed for each person's skin type. so yeah...lol anyways good luck :)

i had the same thing. i had pimples all over my forehead and it was really embarrassing. i started using proactive and it dried out my skin, and i have greasy skin so i decided not to use that anymore..i started using the neutrogena skin ID thing and it worked REALLY well. if you go to skinid.com and take the little like test, it will help you alot. its pretty pricey but worth it. it really helped me and its designed for each person's skin type. so yeah...lol anyways good luck :)
I've been to a Dermatologist, and tried a billion products, but Pro-Active seemed to work the most.
Then, I decided to try out the cheaper version AcneFree
It works just as good, if not better.
It can be found at target, walmart, anywhere
Use Clearasil. I use it and it works great and it's cheaper than ordering other kinds from tv.
try eating more fresh fruit and veggies. also, slow down on the junk foods and fast foods. they can make your situation worse.

I'm not sure what type of acne I have. What do I have?
My skin has tiny little pimples, I think I may also have discoloration/scars left behind from pimples, my skin looks rough in some areas, I have pores that show as well( but it may be hairs growing out of my face? i think. :/ )

You may want to try some over the counter OXY pads (many different brands, no one better than the other), clearasil face wash-very good. These have medications in them that can have some control over pimples. Again, don't buy for name, but cost!
Basically, keep up your balanced life style. If I come up with a cure for this, I'll win the nobel prize for medicine! I'll let you know!
The best way to fix that sort of thing is to find whats causing it. Something you do throughout the day is causing that. You could be rubbing it alot out of habit, or using a certain type of soap to irritate it. Make sure you replace and wash your pillow case regularly and that sort of thing. Be aware and youll find the source.

Why am i getting this type of acne on my forehead?
i have these red, hard, acne on my forehead. I use Clearasil Ultra Daily face Wash, and Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub Neutrogena. My face is not dry, my face is usually clear, but than my forehead acne is always there. Can you please help me with the ones on my forehead? Also, if you've had this experience, what did you do? I know from experience Im 16 now but what I did was just try different products until I finally found one that was working for me which are ddf products they are pretty expensive im not gonna lie I use many different brands of acne products as well but what I recommend is that u see a dermatologist and just get a professional opinion. also what i recommend doing for the blemishes on your forehead is putting ice on it, it helps reduce the swelling and redness then apply a spot treatment (since your a boy I recommend you use Oxy my brother uses it and has had great results) also instead of ice you can use a wash cloth and let hot water run on it for a while and then place it on the pimple it really works then apply spot treatment afterwards as well. also the important thing is that your face will clear up if you commit to it and try new products and take care of yourself
