Why does the skin on your face produce more sebum then your skin anywhere else?

You sure can sebum on my cousins face after that nasty skin graft.

I used hydroluanic (sp?) acid to cure this problem. It really is effectiveWhy does the skin on your face produce more sebum then your skin anywhere else?
Presumably the anwer required is that it needs more protection from the drying effects of the environment, because the face is more exposed than other parts of the body; but the premise of the question is questionable because the foreskin, scalp and groin skin have more sebaceous glands and higher sebum production per area of skin than the face.
guess because it is the most exposed area


and


thats where you apply more make up~ try out different stuff
It's always exposed tho the atmosphere
To the above: Our hands and arms are always exposed too, and not everyone wears makeup.





That said, I don't know the real reason. Maybe we can figure it out through process of elimination though lol
