Is it true that if you moiusteriuze your face you prevent your skin from producing extra oil-sebum?

i had acne for like 6 years, and now i started moiusterizing and i don't get severe breakouts anymore, is this true or is it just a coincidence?


i'm using neutrogena moiusture FPS 15 for anyone out here who wants to give it a shot.Is it true that if you moiusteriuze your face you prevent your skin from producing extra oil-sebum?
Im in the same boat... my skin is very oily and also prone to breakouts (at least 1 every other day). Additionally I have dry, sensitive skin. Even if your skin is oily ( which CAN be good b/c people with oily skin are less prone to wrinkles.. wooO!!) mositurizing is neccesary... if you dont moisturize, your skin will produce more sebum/oil because it things it needs to compensate for the lack of moisture... Your skin will still be oily if you wear moisturizer, but it will not produce excess (besides the excess it already is producing!)





I'm going to try and just love my ugly skin as it is, because i am 22 and nothing I'm doing is making it better. I hope for you to be able to solve your skin problems though!!

in general yes... the reason your face is oily is because your skin is extra dry and your skin feels that it needs to make extra oil to make up for it. so when you moisturize, your skin knows that its not dry and doesn't need extra oil.
the skin needs oil if u wont moisturise it, it will produce more so better u put some. But u rnt geting them probably coz sunscreen is a better clogger dan a simple cream. as ur skin stays covered n doesnt comes in contact with dust n atmosphere so its not breaking out.
