How do you stop sebum overproduction?

I'm an adult suffering from chronic sebum overproduction on my face. Are there any ways to stop it?How do you stop sebum overproduction?
Well, contrary to general belief.... applying an oil to your skin on a nightly basis can produce many benefits for your skin.

Another way to discourage your own production is by not over washing and scrubbing as so many people like to advise. I don't know I have the same problem. I am a girl so for me it's even worse because I think it has to do with hormones like testosterone. (No i'm not manly.) The only effect of this I see in me is I have very oily skin. So for a woman maybe estrogen can help. For a man I don't know. I also have acne because my pores are sluggish meaning they are sticky and slower to expell oil and instead it builds up. Some people never have an issue with this because of genetics...!! It's all genetics. I have heard that stress, lack of sleep can cause some of it maybe (junk food does not cause it). Best advice is to just wash face twice a day and you don't state if you have acne or not so if not then you just have an extra shine for everybody to see!
